OLEKSIY DAKHNO

COACH

I was exposed to CrossFit in 2010. Since then I fell in love with it and it became my passion. I started coaching in late 2012. I coached people all levels and helped them reach many goals. The feeling I first had when I found CrossFit is what I love to see in other people. I love seeing people overcome things they thought were impossible and to be part of someone’s life changes is amazing.

ALBERT BATUYONG

COACH

Just a couple years ago, if you asked Albert if coaching was a goal of his the answer would've been no. But Albert saw the most of an opportunity which is just one of the many ways CrossFit has bettered his life, to which his approach is no secret - work hard and play just as hard. He applies this to his own personal training and now looks forward to help collectively improve the health and fitness of our CrossFit family together.

JAMES FOSTER

COACH

My CrossFit journey began four years ago when I attended my first class accompanied by my son. The original plan was to train along side him as he prepared for the upcoming hockey season. Aside from leaving the gym exhausted and slightly confused from the kipping pull ups the class was working on, I was hooked. My workout regime prior to CrossFit included weight training, running and P90X. While these activities were helpful, none of them could rival the CrossFit experience. I am in my mid-fourties and in the best shape of my life, 5 pounds lighter than I was at the age of 18 when I was heading off to training camp. I am a Physical Therapist and Advanced Level 1 Coaching Candidate (Hockey) with over twenty-five years of experience training, coaching, teaching and rehabilitating athletes. I spent two year as an Assistant Coach with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Mens' Varsity Hockey Team before returning to Calgary and coaching in the Blackfoot Minor Hockey Association for ten seasons. The metabolic conditioning (METCON) WODS are my favourite CrossFit activities.

SHANNON FLYNN

COACH

Shannon is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council of Strength and Fitness (NCSF), a Certified Strength Coach through Alberta Fitness Leadership (AFLCA), and is also a Level 2 Crossfit Coach. She specializes in health, overall wellness, strength and endurance programming. She started running at 23 and quickly fell in love with going farther, faster. Completing her first Marathon at 25 she never looked back. 10 years later she started doing triathlons and completed her first Ironman in 2015. Crossfit became a foundation for building and maintaining balance to long extended cardio sessions. She is currently training for her second Ironman in 2017. Pushing yourself physically allows you to know your true strength!

SHEREE LOGAN

COACH

I have been a runner for 20 years. I wanted to get stronger overall, so I started seeing a trainer three times a week. This continued for 6 years, but eventually I got bored. After signing up for a Spartan race, I tried CrossFit to train for the race. The first workout immediately hooked me. The feeling of leaving everything on the floor is one I love. In 2 years of doing CrossFit I have seen more changes physically than I saw seeing a trainer for 6 years. I believe that it is the best overall fitness program for anyone. The sense of community at CrossFit is like nothing else and all of the members are so supportive of each other. The community is part of what helps athletes grow and stay motivated! My favorite movement to do and coach is back squat. Most people can back squat a good weight and that is very motivating for them!
